Was ridden upside down last start in a bizarre tactics change from Sherry. He put in a super run though, charging home for third from the rear, beaten just half a length. He was only first up there and will certainly take improvement from that run. With a more positive ride here, he should be fighting out the finish.
- PERFECT ILLUSION ($3.70)
Perfect Illusion looks ready to win now after a very promising last start performance over 2400m at Warwick Farm. He led throughout and was collared by Miyake but fought on bravely to go down by half a length. He’s improved with each run this prep, stepping up in distance gradually. Could be his day today.
- WITCHFULTHINKING ($2.60)
Showed some talent in her short career, but has also managed to put in some sub par performances for various reasons. Last start she was back to her best at Terang, jumping straight to the front and striding clear at the 700m mark to score a dominant eight length victory! A repeat of that performance would see her prove very hard to beat and there’s no reason she can’t do it again here.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- BLACK TIE BEAU ($12)
Has been running well this prep without managing to score a place, including his past two runs where he finished under 2.5L away in both of them. He should be rock hard fit today fourth up, has improved with each run this prep and now gets his chance at 1800m. Look for him late in this wide open affair.
