- TESTING TIMES ($4.20)
Brings some impressive form into this on the back of a last start domination at Goulburn, where she scored by a massive 4.6L in an all-the-way effort. She’s much better when ridden up on the speed and it looks likely that she can do that again here. She seems to have returned a better horse this prep and can be right in the finish today.
- LITTLE MERMAID ($4.20)
Little Mermaid won on debut at Terang impressively before she was given a quick freshen and headed to Sandown to take on the very talented Lunakorn. Lunakorn scored an impressive win there, but Little Mermaid certainly caught the eye, putting in a brilliant last 100m to steal second place. She came up against Lunakorn the following start and faced a similar fate, before being spelled. She resumes here today and can certainly fly fresh. Wouldn’t surprise me to see her fly home and score a huge win.
- REDWOOD RISING ($3.60)
Put in a solid first up run at Cranbourne, sitting last at the 400m before running home well to finish just 2L away from the winner. Followed that up with a great run Moe, again sitting toward the rear of the field and running on strongly to score victory. Might be able to settle a touch closer today and can continue his good run of form.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- CASTLECOMER ($9)
Ruddock certainly looks hard to beat here after a 3.3L romp last start, however he’s certainly not unbeatable and Castlecomer looks an interesting competitor. Castlecomer failed last start at Hawkesbury, but may have needed the run. He’ll derive great benefit from that run and can bounce back today. Last prep, he finished with a strong all-the-way victory at this track and he should be prominent again today. Can return to form here.
