MORNINGTON RACE 7 – 16:30 AEDT
- KUZCO LAD ($5.00)
Kuzco Lad looks to get the early lead here and can use that to his advantage. He was good last start when leading all the way at this track to score by 1.25L. He’s now got three wins from his past four runs and looks to be in career best form. Up slightly in class here but can continue to rise through the grades.
- RIFLES ($3.60)
Rifles looks like a great bet in this race and can find himself back in the winners circle. He scored a brilliant win over 900m at Newcastle to kick off his prep before jumping up in class and failing at Wyong. He then dropped back down in class and just missed at Newcastle. He’s been given a freshen since that run and has trialled well since. He generally performs strongly fresh, so I’m confident he will be in the finish here.
MORNINGTON RACE 8 – 17:05 AEDT
- FUNDRAISER ($2.45)
The lightly raced Fundraiser has been well supported for this race, and rightly so after an impressive first up run at Geelong. He was caught wide without cover but ran bravely to finish third. He’s displayed plenty of talent in the past, scoring a brilliant win last prep at Pakenham. He’ll take great improvement from that first up run and will take some beating here.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- PHILADORA ($11)
Wasn’t far off last start at a similar grade to this. She sat toward the rear of the field and ran home solidly to finish just 2.7L away from the winner. Prior to that, she sat closer at Dubbo and scored a nice win in a slightly easier grade. She looks to get a good run in behind the leaders and has the opportunity to take the next step here today.
