NFL Tips & Betting Preview Week 8 20/21 | BlueBet

Atlanta Falcons (1-6) at Carolina Panthers (3-4)

Carolina has suffered two narrow defeats to the Saints (27-24) and Bears (23-16) in recent weeks so they'll be eager to beat the Falcons on Friday. Which will start with getting their running game going. Against the Saints last week, they managed just 37 yards on the ground. The good news is their offence behind Bridgewater, Anderson and Davis dominated the Falcons just a few weeks ago in their 23-16 victory.

Meanwhile, the Falcons 23-22 loss to the Lions last week basically sums up their 2020 season thus far. They've continually conceded leads in the 2nd half and that was the case last week as the Lions scored on the very last play to steal victory. So can the Falcons overcome their second half woes against the Panthers? We'll find out on Friday.

Having just met a few weeks ago and the Panthers getting up 23-16, we feel the Under is a good bet. In all of the Falcons last 9 night games, the Under is 9-0 and they also hold a 6-1 Unders record at this venue.

Stadium Record

Carolina has a 1-2 record at home this season. Atlanta has won 5 of their last 6 games in Carolina.

Head to Head Record

Since 2015, the Falcons have the wood over the Panthers with an 8-2 record.

Best Bet

Under 49 (TBA)

San Francisco 49ers (4-3) at Seattle Seahawks (5-1)

A tough NFC West division does see the 4-3 49ers in last place so this is a huge game against the divisional leaders. After losing to the Eagles and Dolphins in back to back weeks, the 49ers have rallied with a 24-16 win over the Rams and 33-6 last week against New England. The win over the Patriots was particularly pleasing for Jimmy G, a former backup QB behind Brady. But it was the 49ers running game and defence that was the key. However, an injury to Wilson Jr. is a blow to their rushing attack.

The Seahawks winning start to the season is over after a crazy OT loss against the Cardinals (37-34). Wilson did throw 3 interceptions which he'll be looking to improve on this week. But his combination with Lockett is something to watch after the pair hooked up for 3 touchdowns. They also dominated on the ground with 200 yards from 30 carries.

San Francisco enjoy being an underdog and they're coming into this game with good enough form to compete with the Seahawks high powered offence. As such, the 49ers are 7-1 ATS as underdogs and we like their chances of keeping this one very close.

Stadium Record

Seattle is undefeated at home with 3 wins and they've won 12 of their last 16 home games. San Francisco is 1-8 in Seattle but broke through for their first victory in 2019.

Head to Head Record

San Francisco upset the Seahawks 26-21 last December in Seattle but the Seahawks do hold an 8-2 record in the last 10 meetings.

Best Bet

49ers +3 $1.82

Dallas Cowboys (2-5) at Philadelphia Eagles (2-4-1)

The Cowboys 2020 season is just going from bad to worse at this stage. After losing Dak Prescott, the Cowboys were awful against the Redskins last week in a 25-3 defeat. Now, backup QB Andy Dalton has suffered a concussion and the 'Boys could be down to their 3rd string option against the Eagles.

While Philadelphia lead the NFC East, it hasn't been overly convincing. They rallied to beat the Giants 22-21 last week behind Carson Wentz, which halted a 2 game losing streak. However, they should be expected to beat the reeling Cowboys and really take advantage of this weak division.

Not much to like about the Cowboys at the moment after losing by a combined total of 63-13 in the last 2 weeks. The Eagles have played in plenty of close games this season but this feels like the type of game where they can finally dominate a struggling team, especially against a divisional rival.

Stadium Record

The Eagles have a 1-2-1 home record this season and just beat the Giants 22-21 in their last home game. Dallas has a 4-1 record in Philadelphia.

Head to Head Record

Since 2015, the Cowboys hold a 6-4 head to head record against the Eagles.

Best Bet

Eagles -7.5 (TBA)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2) at New York Giants (1-6)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on fire at the moment after 2 straight impressive performances. Which includes a 38-10 win over Green Bay and a 45-20 thrashing of the Raiders. Tom Brady is showing no signs of age as he tossed 4 touchdowns last week and he's starting to rekindle his combination with Gronk (2 td catches in 2 straight games). Now, they've signed Antonio Brown to add extra talent to this offence.

While the Giants are 1-6 on the season, they've been in plenty of games this season and probably just lack the experience to close out games at the moment. Last week's 22-21 loss against the Eagles was especially disappointing after leading 21-10 with 6 minutes remaining. So to beat the Bucs, they'll need to improve their pass D otherwise Brady will tear them apart.

The Buccaneers are looking a class above the NFC competition at the moment and we don't see the Giants defence slowing down the Bucs' weapons. Brady would also love to get another win against the Giants, a team that beat him in 2 Superbowls! Not to mention, the Giants are 0-8 ATS as home underdogs.

Stadium Record

New York has lost 7 of their last 9 home games. Tampa Bay has lost the last 3 away games against New York.

Head to Head Record

The Giants beat the Bucs 32-31 last year and hold an 8-2 record in the last 10 meetings.

Best Bet

Eagles -7.5 (TBA)
