Round 15

Hawthorn Hawks vs Adelaide Crows

Tuesday (1st September 5.10) Adelaide Oval

Danger, danger, danger for the Hawks with this game. The Crows could get their first win of season 2020 against a Hawks side who are in all sorts. Leading the Bombers last weekend by more than 40 points to lose by 16 points was a disgraceful second half. The coach would have given them an almighty spray and they deserved it. The heat will be on them this weekend if they can’t beat a side who hasn’t won a game all year. This is the Crows best chance of season 2020 to win a game. It is at their home ground against a side who is in as bad of form as they are. They deserve to win a game and lately have been showing there is some hope going into next year. If they are to win they need a big game from their leaders in Sloane and Walker. Crouch is back along with Talia. Tipping the Crows by 15

West Coast Eagles vs Essendon Bombers

Tuesday (1st September 8.10) Gabba

The Eagles need to win this game to stay in touch with the top 8 after their loss to the Tigers last weekend in a game where they could have won if it wasn’t for some bad decisions when going forward. It also doesn’t help when your best forward Josh Kennendy is out of the game in the first 5 mins and will also miss this weekend. Jamie Cripps is also out as his partner had a baby this weekend and he has flown home to Perth. The Bombers had a great come from behind victory last weekend against the Hawks and the biggest positive out of the game was Joe Daniher return he kicked 3 goals and looked unstoppable. If he brings that form this weekend it will help the Bombers in their quest to beating the Eagles. I am tipping the Eagles 1-39 but wouldn’t be surprised if the Bombers caused an upset.

H2H

The Eagles have won three of the last five games vs the Bombers

Eagles 1-39 $1.90

Richmond Tiger vs Fremantle Dockers

Wednesday (2nd September 7.10) Metricon Stadium

Tigers need to win this game and win well to stay in touch with the top 8. The Eagles winning last night knocked the Tigers back to 5th spot but they come up against a Fremantle side who shouldn't cause the Tigers any trouble tonight. Yes, Jesse Hogan is back for the Dockers but they will need a lot more help then big Jesse if they are to cause an upset tonight. Nat Fyfe will need to go head to head with Dusty Martin and try and stop his forward attack. The Tigers are just hitting form at the right time of the year again like last year and after knocking off the Eagles last weekend they are flag favs. Game will be won in the middle with the Tigers midfield on fire at the moment. Led by skipper Cotchin and Martin in there it is going to be very tricky for the Dockers tonight. Tigers by 30+

Sydney Swans vs Melbourne Demons

Thursday (3rd September 4.40) Cairns

Interesting game this one as it is the first in Cairns for season 2020. The Demons are coming off a good win against the Saints last weekend but jeez the skills in that game were horrific. Not one team could kick 30m and hit a target. If it wasn’t for Petracca in the Melbourne side the demons would struggle big time, they are a very up and down football side who can let you down at any point of a game. They come up against a Swans side who is begging for the Season to be finished to draft some kids and get in the gym and attack for season 2021 with a fit Lance Franklin and the possibility of Joe Daniher joining the side. The Demons should win this game with the form that they are in but again anything can happen with this side so don’t have the house on the Demons to win.

Swans +17.5 $1.90
Swans +17.5/under 116.5 $3.25

GWS Giants vs Carlton Blues

Thursday (3rd September 7.10) Metricon Stadium

The Giants got back to winning ways last weekend with a great win over the Dockers. The game was also where they found a big marking forward who is putting pressure on Cameron for number 1 forward. Big Josh Riccardi was unstoppable last weekend kicking 4 goals and dominating the game from the get go. The Giants need to win this game to stay in touch with the top 8 a loss and that could be it for season 2020. If I was a Blues fan I would be so frustrated with this side. They were a good chance last weekend vs the Pies but just fell away when the game got tough and that has been a pattern for this side for the last 5 years, tough gets going they go to water. I can’t see them beating a Giants side that’s forward line will dominate the Blues defence tonight. GWS to cover the line easily.

H2H
Giants have won four of the last five games vs the Blues

Best bet
Giants -11.5 $1.90
Swans over 25 $2.90

Brisbane Lions vs Collingwood Magpies

Friday (4th September 7.50) Gabba

Friday night footy at the Gabba hopefully they can pack out the stadium and show off to the rest of Australia that people in Qld do care about AFL. The Grand Final is being played at the Gabba so this will be the Lions biggest chance to win a flag if I have ever seen one. They come up against a Pies side who are running on fumes but are hanging on for dear life. They can cause an upset tonight and ruin the Lions chances of a top four spot. Buckley has brought in some big guns and a debut player to get the fresh legs going. Lions bring in the booming left foot of Daniel Rich who can set up most of their attack. I think the Lions will be too strong for the Pies but the Pies haven't lost to the Lions in the past five games. If the Pies start well early then it is game on. Liking the Pies line tonight.

H2H

The Pies have won five of the last five games vs the Lions

Best bet

Pies +14.5
