- MYSTERY SHOT ($4.20)
This undefeated gelding looks like he is on the up, scoring impressive wins in both of his career starts. Showed great strength to the line in his latest victory at Ballarat over 1200m, which bodes well for him jumping to 1440m here. Jumps to Handicap grade here but can improve again and take the next step.
- TRUMBULL ($6.50)
This talented gelding has started to become extremely costly for punters, continually missing the start and effectively blowing his chances of winning before the race has begun. If we remove that facet of his races, he has been racing superbly and would likely have at least two or three wins this prep. If he can jump with them tomorrow, he’ll prove tough to beat.
- MALEA MAGIC ($5.50)
No doubt should have finished closer, or even won last start after Overmire went up the rail and into the worst ground. Run prior to that was good behind Blazing Miss and Threeood. Looks to get a nice run in behind the leaders here and has shown that she can handle the wet. Rock hard fit now.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- RUBAN BLEU ($9)
Favourite here has been racing well this prep, scoring three wins from just four starts. He might have reached his peak now and could struggle here. Ruban Bleu is slightly up in grade here but comes into this on the back of a high quality win at Caulfield, where he was able to storm home to win. Needs the right run, but has the talent to win again.
