- STRATESSA ($6.00)
Was given a freshen two starts back before resuming at Pakenham with blinkers on and scoring a brilliant 2.75L victory where she did some work early. She was still able to finish strongly there and impressed. Last start she raced on a bog Sandown track up in grade and ran poorly. This race looks more suitable.
- LOST AND RUNNING ($1.75)
Comes up short here in this small field but after his strong debut win, I’m confident he should prove far too good for these here. He was absolutely dominant at Scone, scoring a 4.5L victory, with a particularly strong last 400m. He looks like he’s on the way to bigger and better things and this is another good race for him.
- CHARLEISE ($4.00)
Put in a terrific run last start after beginning awkwardly. She loomed ominously, but unfortunately peaked on her run and went down by a narrow margin. She was still able to beat Florent home, and was only inches away from defeating Librate, which is good form for a race like this. Gets a chance to score her second win of the prep here.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- POWER O’HATA ($9.00)
Atlantica is the favourite here currently but was ideally suited last start and looks beatable here. I’m siding with Power O’hata, who although draws wide, should be able to cross this field easily and sit just behind the leaders. She’s been in strong form recently, scoring a win over Salorsci two back, before backing that up with a third at this track last start.
