- FLINDERS ($3.70)
Couple in the field here have form around Battleground and perhaps Flinders boasts the best form behind the talented horse. He was checked first up and finished a length away from Battleground before going to Warwick Farm and scoring a solid win. His last two runs have been good, finishing in the money both times. Rock hard fit here and looks hard to beat.
- CASTEL SANT’ANGELO ($5.50)
Halcyon Dame absolutely loves it wet and brings a record of 13: 3-2-4 on rain affected tracks. Second favourite Royalty looks to have a class but comes into this first up and is unproven on wet tracks. Halcyon Dame looks to get a strong run up near the lead in this small field and should be tough to get past.
- ARTY LUCAS ($4.20)
Has taken a few runs to get going this pre, but improved sharply when jumping to 2000m last start at this track, finishing 2.75L behind Shepard with an almost 5L gap back to third. That form reads well for this and a drop back to BM70 looks suitable. Main danger Meteor Light is only second up here and may need another run.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
- FROZEN IN TIME ($8.50)
Hulk looks hard to beat here and boasts some form behind some quality types, including Dirty Work, who won impressively on Saturday. He’s now had twelve starts without winning though so I’m looking around him. Frozen in Time has been running in the Provincials, but was super impressive in the Jardel Cup at Tamworth, winning but 2 lengths. She’s in form and looks a good chance at the price.
