Hasn’t put a foot wrong since coming to Australia, winning all three of his starts to date. His latest victory was a rousing 2.5L victory over the field in the Canberra Cup. He has been racing in slowly run races and will enjoy this distance and tempo more. Looks a great bet.
MORNINGTON RACE 5 – 14:45 AEDT
- SALSAMOR ($3.70)
Salsamor took a run or two to get going this prep, but since then, he has been in a rich vein of form. This race looks perfectly suited for him, plus he’s rock hard fit now. There looks to be a fast tempo up front as well, which should play right into the hands of Salsamor. I expect him to be right there in the finish.
MORNINGTON RACE 6 – 15:25 AEDT
- THEMOONLITEGAMBLER ($5.00)
Resumed last start over an unsuitable 1400m, yet was able to show his class and score a 0.75L victory at Pakenham. He’ll be much suited out to 1600m and will improve off that first up run. Looks like a horse on the up and he should run well again here.

MORNINGTON RACE 8 – 16:50 AEDT
- HAUNTED ($8.50)
This race looks like a wide open affair and there looks to be a fair bit of speed engaged. I like the look of Haunted, who resumed with a solid third at Flemington in a grade similar to this. He draws wide, but should be able to slot in nicely behind the leaders who might run it to suit him. Right in this and can finish over the top of them.
