RANDWICK – RACE 5 1200m 14:35 AEDT
SPECIAL REWARD ($2.90)
With the track currently a Heavy 8 and unlikely to improve too much, Jungle Edge is well in the market here due to his imperious wet track form. However, I’m going with Special Reward, who looks to have some upside here and the benefit of the barrier inside Jungle Edge. Two starts back, he was caught wide before going for a short spell; followed that run with a game second at Randwick last start, in which he should take great benefit from. Only carries 53kg here and should prove tough to beat.
FLEMINGTON - Race 5 1400m 14:50 AEDT
CATALYST ($3.00)
The only thing that nearly beat Alligator Blood last start was the Gold Coast traffic, as he went on to score a dominant 3L victory on Magic Millions day. He perhaps faces his toughest test to date against NZ boom colt Catalyst, who has only been beaten once (in his first start) during his career. His last start was a dominant 2.5L victory at Ellersie and he’ll look to continue that form here. Looks a strong challenge against Alligator Blood.
RANDWICK – RACE 7 1200m 15:50 AEDT
LIBERTINI ($3.00)
Libertini showed her class early last prep, scoring two wins to kick off her prep before narrowly going down in her next two. Wide barrier may actually play to her advantage here, with a lack of speed on the inside she should be able to cross fairly easily. She’s had two trials leading into this and was solid in both, so I’m expecting her to be ready to go here first up.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
FLEMINGTON RACE 2 1600m 13:05 AEDT
PARLAY PRINCESS ($12.00)
Fairly open field here and they should be led along by Fabric and Red Heeler at an even tempo. Parlay Princess looks to get the run of the race behind them here one out, one back. She’s up in class here but has been racing extremely well this prep, winning 3 out of her 4 starts. Endured a tough run last start at BM70 and still got up for a win; with a better run here she can continue her strong form this prep.
