RANDWICK – RACE 3 2400m 14:10 AEDT
ALWARD ($2.75)
Alward has been on a tear recently for Chris Waller. The 7-year-old Gelding has scored a place in five of his past six runs, including three wins. Has not won at this distance in seven tries but he has run a place four times and his form around 2200m is more than solid. He’s rock hard fit now and looks a great chance to make it three wins in a row.
FLEMINGTON – RACE 2 1100m 15:40 AEDT
BAM’S ON FIRE ($2.20)
Supremely talented mare who is coming off the best preparation of her career a few months back, where she scored three consecutive wins and was third behind Gytrash at Listed level. Was first up last start and ran well as a well backed favourite but had a little too much to do and could only finish third. Ran the quickest last 400m in the race however, and 2nd up here, she should be primed for victory.
RANDWICK – RACE 6 1200m 16:00 AEDT
SIGNORE FOX ($3.40)
Scored a strong first up victory over the in-form Reelem In Ruby who then went on the win the Group 2 Hot Danish. Followed that up with a narrow defeat at Doomben but I liked the way he hit the line. Main danger Multaja looks well placed with solid recent form around the aforementioned Reelem In Ruby but Signore Fox looks to have more upsid, is better weighted and should appreciate the tempo here.
BLUEY’S BEST VALUE
FLEMINGTON – RACE 5 1100m 17:40 AEDT
SPIRIT OF AQUADA ($10.00)
Hasn’t won for a few starts but has raced well and held his own at this grade previously. Didn’t have the best run at The Valley to begin his prep but still managed to plug away solidly for fourth and naturally should improve off that run. Tempo here should suit and can definitely factor here.
