NFL Tips & Betting Preview Week 5 | BlueBet

Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks

Week 5 of the NFL season begins at CenturyLink Field on Friday with the 3-1 Seahawks taking on the 3-1 Rams. With the 3-0 49ers leading the NFC West, this is a must-win game for either side. The Rams will need to improve after last week where they gave up 55 points to the Buccaneers and Rams QB Jared Goff had a shocker with 3 picks. Meanwhile, the Seahawks easily accounted for the Cardinals 27-10. Russell Wilson played mistake free football and they leaned on the run with Chris Carson's 22 carries. This is expected to be a close game but it's hard to look past the Rams performance last Monday. Wilson hasn't been intercepted at all this season and they love to run the ball. So if they build an early lead, that will force the Rams into abondoning the running game. Which did occur last week and that quells the influence of Todd Gurley. The trip to Seattle is always a tough one and with the Rams travelling on a short turnaround, this looks like the Seahawks can earn a crucial NFC West victory. They've won 6 of their last 7 home games and have also beaten the Rams in 11 of the last 14 at home.

Stadium Record

The Seahawks hold a 1-1 home record in 2019 but have won 6 of their last 7 dating back to last season. LA has won the last 2 meetings in Seattle but they have a poor 3-11 record in the last 14 games.

Head to Head Record

Last season's series was a high scoring battle as the Rams won at home 36-31 and beat the Seahawks here 33-31.

Best Bet

Seahawks WIN $1.80

Green Bay Packers at Dallas Cowboys

It's a NFC showdown on Monday morning when the 3-1 Cowboys host the 3-1 Packers. Both sides are just leading their divisions so a 4-1 record is up for grabs. The Packers will have an advantage in this road game considering they played last Friday in a home loss to the Eagles 34-27. So their defence should be well rested to rebound in a matchup against Prescott/Elliott. Meanwhile, the Cowboys are back at home after a tough road loss against the Saints, 12-10. They just couldn't get the running game going as Elliott carried 18 times for just 35 yards. So the Packers run D will look for a similar gameplan. The Cowboys have been a tough opponent at home recently with 5 straight wins but Green Bay has been a bogey side for them. In 2017, the Packers beat them twice at this venue 35-31 and 34-31. While their defence wasn't great last game, they'll benefit from the extra rest and that should help them cover in this contest.

Stadium Record

Dallas has 5 won on the trot at home and they've beaten the Dolphins/Giants in the 2 games here this season. Since 2013, the Packers have won all 3 meetings in Dallas.

Head to Head Record

Overall, the Packers hold a 7-1 record against the Cowboys at any venue.

Best Bet

Packers +3.5 $1.91

Indianapolis Colts at Kansas City Chiefs

Arrowhead Stadium features the Kansas City Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts in Monday's late game. The Chiefs are rolling again in 2019 with 4 straight wins. They're coming off a 34-30 win over the Lions where Patrick Mahomes didn't toss a touchdown pass as the Chiefs leaned on the run a bit more. Their defence does leak points but that's understandable with a high powered offence. The Colts will take a 2-2 start to the season after Andrew Luck's retirement just before the season. All 4 of their games have been close so they'll look to run some clock with Marlon Mack to keep the ball away from the Chiefs. This is a re-match of the playoffs last year where the Chiefs outclassed the Colts 31-13. However, the Colts are showing good signs on the road this season. They went into OT against the Chargers in LA and beat the Titans in Tennessese. So the underdog line does offer good value considering the Chiefs last 2 games have been decided by under 7 points. They were also pretty sloppy against the Lions last week with 3 fumbles lost and hopefully the Colts D can produce the same.

Stadium Record

Kansas City is 9-2 in their last 11 home games and beat the Ravens 33-28 in their home opener. The Colts have a good overall record in KC with 7 wins in the last 9.

Head to Head Record

Overall, the Colts have covered in 12 of the last 17 games against the Chiefs.

Best Bet

Colts +11 $1.89

Cleveland Browns at San Francisco 49ers

Week 5 concludes at Levi's Stadium with the undefeated 49ers taking on the 2-2 Browns. San Francisco return from the bye with a lead in the NFC West and this is a key game for their divisional chances. They beat the Steelers 24-20 in their home opener and previously trashed the Bengals 41-17. But the confident Browns will be tough. They pounded the Ravens 40-25 last week, which overcame a 20-13 home loss against the Rams. Browns RB Nick Chubb was a beast in the running game with 3 touchdowns and 165 yards from 20 carries. However, he'll have a tougher matchup against the 49ers run D that's allowing 75 rushing yards per game. This is the first meeting since 2015 and the trend between these two sides has been the Under (4-0). The 49ers defence should be fresh from the bye and they do have a nice 5-2 Unders record on their home turf. The Browns won't have it as easy as last week so this figures to be a close and low scoring clash.

Stadium Record

San Francisco won their home opener by 4 points and have won 4 of their last 6 home games. The Browns have never played at this venue.

Head to Head Record

The Browns won the last meeting 24-10 in 2015 and have won 3 of ht last 4 since 2003.
