SOUL PATCH ($2.80)
Eye-catching run last start when found the line beautifully first up at Sandown after being restrained early. He was last at the 400m in a leader dominated race and rattled home for second. Gets an extra 100m here in a similar grade and the spacious Flemington straight should be perfect for this talented colt.
CANTERBURY – RACE 4 1550m 14:35 AEST
FALCON ISLAND ($3.50)
Resumed from nearly a year off racing two starts back and was likely a little underdone, as expected. Improved the following run behind Mapmaker and expecting further improvement third up here. Should be able to lead from the wide barrier relatively easily and could be tough to get past on the short Canterbury straight.
CANTERBURY – RACE 6 1250m 15:45 AEST
SPANISH DREAM ($3.20)
The in-form Nash Rawiller takes the ride here on Spanish Dream, who has gotten better with each run this prep and finally scored a win last start at odds in Saturday grade. Should find this drop back in grade much easier and looks to get a great run behind the leader. Expecting another strong run here.

CANTERBURY – RACE 7 1100m 16:20 AEST
BLACK MAGNUM ($9.00)
Opened his with impressive back to back wins before stepping out to a higher grade and failing to finish 11L behind the winner. That was however, backed up with a 2nd at a similar grade in his following run. If we remove that poor run from this prep, he probably starts much shorter. I’m willing to forgive that run and think he can continue his good form.
