Richmond Tigers vs Geelong Cats

September 20th (Friday 7.50pm) MCG

Huge Friday night game for these two sides win and you are in a Grand Final lose and you are planning holidays and mad Monday. The Cats had a great win last week against a West Coast side that threw everything at them. The Cats got off to a 31 point lead but the Eagles were in front going into the last quarter then the Cats rallied and kicked the next four goals. Only negative to come out of the game is that Tom Hawkins has been suspended for one match for a swinging arm to Will Schofield. This is a massive blow for the Cats as Hawkins is their main forward and when he kicks goals they usually win. The Cats will have their hands full with the Tigers midfield with the likes of Martin, Cotchin, Prestia and Caddy running riot. I can’t see the Cats winning unless they stop the Tigers midfield and get on top of them early. It is up to Dangerfield and Kelly to stand up and take control early or this game will turn into the 2017 Qualifying final where the Tigers dominated the Cats after half time to go on and beat them by 40 points. Key matchups will be Martin vs Dangerfield and Kelly vs Cotchin. Whoever can win those battles will go along way to helping their side win this match. With Hawkins out I can’t see the Cats kicking a score that will get them over the line. Tigers by 40+

Collingwood Magpies vs GWS Giants

September 21st (Saturday 4.35pm) MCG

News just in from the AFL that the ban everyone has been talking about involving Toby Greene will stand and he will miss this crucial game vs the Pies. A silly action from Toby could cost his side the opportunity to play in its first grand final. The Giants stood up last weekend and bullied the Lions and then stole a victory many thought was nearly impossible well this week vs the Pies is impossible. The Giants are without Conglio, Whitfield, Ward, Patton, Deledio and now no Greene that is like going to see a band play but only seeing the warm up bands play. The Pies are near full strength and will love being at the MCG with their faithful behind them. They were amazing vs the Cats and should have won by more but let their foot off the gas in the last qtr. I am tipping a big game from Trelor and Adams vs their old side and the running dash of Darcy Moore off the backline will go along way for the Pies this weekend. The Giants losing Greene tonight has put a line through them and the Pies will be playing the Tigers in this years 2019 AFL Grand final. Pies by 18+
