BALLARAT - RACE 3 1400m 13:35 AEST
SPILIA ($2.00)
It’s generally rare for a six start maiden to go around as a hot favourite, but Spilia looks extremely well placed to break his maiden tag here today. Was solid at Pakenham first up before jumping out to 1400m last start where he looked more comfortable. Might be better over further, but rock hard fit here and will take some beating.
BALLARAT - RACE 5 1100m 14:25 AEST
ANTILIA ($3.70)
Ran into a couple of good types last prep including the likes of Amphtirite and Kings Brook, the latter who scored a nice win over the weekend. Has since returned this prep with a strong second in her first run back when she was wide but sustained a strong run to just miss. Should improve off that run and looks to have come on from last prep.
CANTERBURY – RACE 4 1550m 14:35 AEST
AUSTRIA ($2.60)
Looking to replicate her last prep over in New Zealand where she finished fourth, third & first. She looks a great chance to do so as well – so far this prep, she has finished fourth & third. Has improved with each run this prep, including a nice effort at Scone last time out where she ran home for third from the back. James Mcdonald will ensure she has every possible chance here today and she should be hard to beat.

CANTERBURY – RACE 6 1550m 15:45 AEST
KAAPFEVER ($10.00)
Overall record not great, but has really seemed to improve in his last couple of runs. Two starts back finished 1.5L from Vega at Warwick Farm, before hitting the line again strongly behind Primitivo last time out. Looks like he takes a couple of runs to get going, but he should be close to full fitness here. Pace up front should benefit and he should finish off the race well.
