DESERT LORD ($1.70)
Promising gelding out of the Hawkes yard who has finished behind some smart horses such as Aqua D’ivina and Sedition in the past. Last start had a lovely trail into the race and was able to dominate the race in the final 200m. Extra distance looks to suit and will be very tough to beat here.
Randwick - Race 7 1400m 17:20 AEDT
ROCK ($2.70)
Huge run at Canterbury last start in what was atrocious conditions for runners. The conditions didn’t phase the gelding as he stormed home from third last to score an impressive win. Prior to that finished a narrow 2nd to Terminology at the Gold Coast. Looks primed for another big run here.
Sandown - Race 5 1400m 18:00 AEDT
WINNING PARTNER ($2.40)
Good return at Morphettville last start for a narrow 2nd, despite starting as a $1.55 favourite. He was returning there after a short spell and may have been a touch underdone first up. Has been extremely well backed since markets opened which gives me further indication the horse will be ready to go here second up.

Sandown - Race 6 1800m 18:30 AEDT
SENRIMA TIDE ($9.00)
Was back down in class last start but seemed to race keenly and was blocked at the 200m to finish an unflattering 7th, despite only finishing 2.7L from the winner. Prior to that, he managed to score a win in the same class (BM64) – also at Sandown. With a better run in transit here, he should put in a solid run; especially with the favourite off a long spell.
