Bluey’s Best Racing Bets – Thursday 8 November 2018 – Kennedy Oaks Day

Flemington - Race 1 1000m 12:15pm AEDT

CHICAGO BULL ($2.45)

I saw Peter Gelagotis’ Chicago Bull gallop at Moonee Valley a couple of weeks ago and was looking forward to seeing him debut that Saturday but they scratched him. He lines up in this two-year-old race on Thursday and I like his chances.

He is well bred and was an expensive buy and he looks like a ready-made racehorse. He is still only small in height, but he is built very strong, and I think he will get the job done here.

Wedgetail trained by Tony McEvoy should be in the mix as well. Racing experience is invaluable for these two-year-olds and last run was a complete forgive as he was taken completely off the track, so I think he will be right there at the finish.

Flemington - Race 3 Twitter Trophy 1800m 1:35pm AEDT

MAHAMEDEIS ($7.50/$2.65)

Mahamedeis is completely over the odds here in my opinion. He was only two and a half lengths behind a subsequent Group 1 winner last start and you could argue that he didn’t handle the soft track.

Dropping back from 2000m to 1800m looks to be ideal and he’s a big horse that likes Flemington, I think he will just win.

Al Galayel from team Maher/Eustace must also be considered. He has shown us that he is a talented galloper and when he puts it all together, he is very tough to beat.

Flemington - Race 6 Absolut Stakes 1000m 3:35pm AEDT

SUPER CASH ($3.70)

I am all about Super Cash in this race. She always goes well fresh and beat Merchant Navy first-up in the Autumn. She is a mare that has just continued to improve throughout her entire career and is a class above the rest of this field. Even though she probably isn’t a 1000m horse, I would be very surprised to see her get beat.

I think Faatinah is well over the odds. He goes well over 1000m and loves the straight, so I would expect him to also be there at the finish.
